“Stallkänslan” – Together for a safe equestrian sport
The equestrian sport identifies as an open and inclusive place. A place which, by most, is associated with safety, horses and companionship. But this, unfortunately, is not the case for everyone. Bullying and exclusion is a societal problem were almost a quarter of Swedish youth have been subjected to abuse and degrading treatment. The Swedish Equestrian Federation’s youth survey have identified several reports on exclusion and harassment.
With the film “Stallkänslan” (The Stable Atmosphere) we want to show the contrast between vision and reality – an image of the stable not frequently made visible; an image that depicts bullying and exclusion within the equestrian sport, despite zero tolerance policies. We need to open our eyes, react and take action for a safer equestrian sport.
The aim of this film is to fuel engagement around the safety issues within the sport and to raise awareness of the support system that the federation has to offer.
